Using the Pizza Profit Calculator

Control Pizza - App Screenshot

Step 1: Control Pizza

The first step of the pizza profit calculator is filling out six basic fields under the “Control Pizza” chart. This data will remain in the chart until you remove the data from each field manually or click the “Clear Data” button in the top right of the tool. Once you complete the chart, press the “New Pizza” arrow at the bottom right of the tool.

Step 2: New Pizza

The New Pizza chart contains the same six fields as the Control Pizza. Fill these out with any potential adjustments to see how they impact your profit margins. (Note: you do not have to fill out this section if you just want to see the yearly profit margin of your control pizza. Simply press the “Results” arrow on the bottom right to move forward to the “Results” table.)

Step 3: Results

The “Results” chart allows you to quickly see your inputs and how they impact your margins. On this chart, you will see all your previous inputs along with a variance column. You will also see five new rows: total cost of cheese per pizza, your total pizza cost, and the approximate profit margins you would see for each pizza as well as each week and year. To go back and update any inputs, simply click “Start Over” to go back to the “Control Pizza” screen.  The data you input will not clear until you hit clear data or manually delete the inputs from each field. This allows you to make minor changes to the inputs without needing to reenter all of the data again.
